VisionThrough the creation of the monument, we elevate our very existence —
raising the flag through laughter, movement, and life.

“Am Yisrael Chai” is an iconic, experiential monument
that combines monumental letter sculpture, play elements, and an active public space.
The work redefines the boundary between sculpture, play, and ceremonial space,
offering a living, everyday experience for children and families,
alongside a permanent stage for ceremonies, performances, and civic events.
This is a combination rarely found in today’s public realm

Memory · Consciousness · ContinuityThis is a creation that will become a nostalgic memory,
and a space that will shape a mature consciousness.
The childhood experiences formed here will be absorbed into personal identity,
and through play, joy, and a sense of belonging,
will convey a message of unity
and the continuity of life here.
It is a multi-generational space,
where children who grow up here will one day return with their own children,
and later with their grandchildren —
remembering how they played here in their childhood,
while creating new formative memories together.

Spatial ConceptThe two words “Am” (People) and “Chai” (Alive)
form two sides of the structure,
creating a monument that is readable from all directions

A Star of David serves as an elevated observation point
and a central raised stage,
suitable for ceremonies and public events.

Planning & FlexibilityFrom a planning perspective, the work is based on a modular and flexible system
and can be designed in various sizes and modes of use:
As a standalone experiential sculpture,
or in combination with play elements and a stage,
tailored to the needs of the municipality and the character of the site.

Construction, Standards & LightingThe monument is constructed using structural concrete
and incorporates materials specifically suited for public spaces,
designed to withstand intensive use and long-term exposure to the elements.
The project undergoes all planning, testing, and approval stages
in accordance with the requirements of the Israeli Standards Institute,
including Standard 1498 for playground equipment.
In addition, the monument integrates night lighting,
allowing for visibility and use after dark,
and creating a luminous presence visible from afar.

Living CommemorationThe work also enables the commemoration of fallen members of the local community,
in a way that connects memory, life, and continuity
as part of the meaning of “Am Yisrael Chai” —
where life continues because of them,
and they themselves become part of eternity
through the laughter of children.
